Introduction
In this area of our Divi Events Calendar plugin documentation, you will learn everything you need to know about using the Events Calendar module. As you set up and use the module, I highly recommend that you reference this guide, which includes details about every setting that is available and what it does. You should also check out the Events Calendar Module Demos to see how the module works and get some inspiration.
Module Description
The Events Calendar module is the traditional month style calendar view. This module allows you to display a calendar with all the events shown on the day with a handy tooltip that appears on hover. Everything is customizable with a huge amount of content features, display options, and design settings. There are so many possibilities with this module, and it can be used on any page or archive page on your Divi website.
Guides & Videos
We have organized the settings in the Events Calendar module according to the main settings within the module. You can view the full documentation by opening the toggles in the page below.
Content
Events Selection
The first and arguably most important setting when setting up the Events Calendar module is the Events Selection setting. Choosing an option from this dropdown will determine which other settings display, so be sure to choose carefully. Each option is explained separately in detail below.

All Events
The default setting when you add the module is All Events. This will simply display all events on the site without regard for category, organizer, venue, etc. However, you will still be able to enable or disable the other settings to show or hide cancelled, postponed, recurring, hybrid, or virtual events.
Dynamic Events
This setting enables a special feature that allows you to show events based on the Divi Theme Builder template. When the module is placed in the template layout, it will show events automatically based on the template assignment. For example, if Dynamic Events is selected in a Theme builder template for Event Categories, and then a visitor views an event category page, it will automatically display only the events that are in that current category. This feature saves you an incredible amount of time and hassle, and highly recommend for event category templates.
Featured Events
The Events Calendar has an option to mark an event as featured when you are editing the backend of a single event page. This setting allows you to choose to show only the events that are marked as featured. Please note, choosing this option will only show featured events, nothing else.
Custom Events Selection
Perhaps the most useful option for most users is the Custom Events Selection. This option gives you full control over which events show in the calendar based on specific criteria, such as category, organizer, venue, and date range.
Categories, Organizers, Venues
These checkboxes popular dynamically based on the event categories, organizers, and venues that you have added to your website in The Events Calendar.
You can choose just one option or mix-and-match any choice of categories, organizers, venues, or date range. If you do not select any checkbox, then all items are included. Once you select a checkbox, then only that item is included. This applies to categories, organizers, and venues.
- If you do not select any categories, then any category will be included. If you select one or more categories, then only events that match will be displayed.
- If you do not select any organizers, then any organizer will be included. If you select one or more organizers, then only events that match will be displayed.
- If you do not select any venues, then any venue will be included. If you select one or more venues, then only events that match will be displayed.
You can mix and match criteria however you want. You may want to display events with a specific category, but are not concerned about venue or organizer. In that case, make your category selection and do not select any organizer or venue.
Keep in mind that it may give very narrow results depending on your selections, especially if you select a low number of options within just one of the three – categories, organizers, and venues. For example, you may have several events in Outdoor Events category, but only one in Doug Fir Lounge. In that case, only that event would show because it would be the only one to match the combined criteria.

Limit Loading Of Future/Past Events
The Events Calendar module includes features to limit which months show events. This setting enables the additional features related to limiting the months and events from showing.

Number Of Past Months To Load
These settings allow you to enter the number to set the limit for how far in the past or future events should load in the calendar. These settings are helpful for several reasons. First, it improves performance by reducing the number of events that need to load. Setting a small number, such as the default 1 month for past and 6 months for future, will improve event loading time. Also, it is usually not necessary for website visitors to access events that are in the past or over a year in the future.

Limit Navigation Range
This setting is a great addition to the past and future limit settings. The other settings are about whether the actual events show in the calendar, but this setting is related to the ability to navigate to previous and next months. These options allow you to choose whether you want to disable navigation beyond the past and future months limit (meaning you would not be able to click next or previous), or whether you want to still be able to navigate but hide the months.

Show Cancelled And Postponed Events
The Events Calendar has a feature to set events as scheduled, cancelled, or postponed. This setting allows you to show or hide cancelled or postponed events in the calendar. Events that are marked as cancelled or postponed will be shown when enabled, or hidden when disabled. Enabling the setting will also add badges that say Canceled or Postponed that appear before the event title.

Show Virtual Events
This option is only relevant if you are using the Virtual Events addon by The Events Calendar.
This setting simply allows you to show or hide Virtual Events in the calendar. Events that are marked as virtual will be shown when enabled, or hidden when disabled.

Show Hybrid Events
This option is only relevant if you are using the Virtual Events addon by The Events Calendar.
This setting simply allows you to show or hide Virtual Events in the calendar. Events that are marked as virtual will be shown when enabled, or hidden when disabled.

Show Recurring Events
This option is only relevant if you are using The Events Calendar Pro.
It allows you to show or hide Recurring Events in the calendar. Recurring events will be shown when enabled, or hidden when disabled.

Hide Past Events
This setting hides past events from showing in the calendar. This includes events that are within the current month. As an example, if it is the 16th of the month, but you already had several events on the 3rd, 7th, and 12th, then those events would be hidden since they are in the past.

Views
Default View
This option will allow you to set the default view of the calendar. There are four view options that you get in the dropdown:

Month View
This view is set by default and this will the standard calendar view having the month name at the top center and dates under that.
Week View
When the view is set to week then you will see the ongoing week dates range at the top center and week dates and timings at the horizontal and vertical tabs.
Days View
When the view is set to day then you will see the current date at the top center and day name and timings at the horizontal and vertical tabs.
List View
When the view is set to list then you will see the ongoing week dates range at the top center and the events will be shown as the lists having the day name and date of the event in the left and right corners respectively as a label and then the name of the event is shown with the timings.
Show Month View Button
Enabling this option will display a Month button at the top right corner which allows the visitors to see the event calendar in a month view if the month view is not set by default.

Show Week View Button

Show List View Button

Same Day Event Order
This is the fourth option that you will see under the content settings. This option allows you to change the placement of the events coming on the same day and are present in the same date block with the help of four sub-options provided.

Start Time
This option will place that event at the top which is starting first and then the event which is starting just after first and so on.
Duration
This option will place that event at the top which has the longest duration and then the event whose duration is lower than the first and so on.
All Day
This option will place the all day event at the top.
Title
This option will sort the event order alphabetically based on the event title.
Disable Days Of The Week
These checkboxes give you the options to show or hide any day of the week in the calendar. This is great for hiding weekends or any other days that you prefer. When a day is selected, the dates on that day of the week will not show in the calendar.

Week Starts On Day
This setting allows you to choose which day of the week should be the first day in the calendar view. This is especially helpful in some cultures and countries which use a different first day of the week.

Show Event Time
The event title shows within the month view by default. We also so the event start time here, above the title. If you prefer to disable it, this setting will show the time when enabled and hide the time when disabled.
